I will be in Austin Texas in March of 2004 producing a documentary based on the South by Southwest music showcase. SXSW features over 1,000 bands from all over the world who are looking for exposure, and recording contracts for those acts who don't have one. The topic of the documentary is on how the music industry is changing, and how technology is having such a big impact within the industry. We will be covering how the artist is planning on using the SXSW showcase as a promotional tool, and how music production and promotion will evolve in the future. With associate Bob Frank, we will be conducting interviews with bands, and shooting live concert footage. We will be working with performers who are giving it their all at the showcase, capturing the spirit and hope of the musicians. We are looking forward to capturing the adventures of bands as they make their way up the ladder to stardom. We will also be interviewing record company reps, A&R people, to complete the perspective of the current and future music industry.
